Reflex XTR not detecting Futaba 7C

I just bought Reflex XTR and installed it on my winXP machine, installed the USB driver and connected my Futaba 7CAP and when I start the program it tells me to center all sticks and knobs, then I hit OK, then it says 'Switch on transmitter" and when I do nothing happens. If I hit cancel the sim starts but I have no control.

Anyone know how to fix this? I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the USB device from 'hardware manager' but it still cannot detect my transmitter.

Yeah I found that a few minutes after posting my question. Im at work and the only soldering iron I have is a big gun type, but it worked well enough to make the modification, and I left the components attached at one end and sticking up off the board so as not to lose them should I ever want to put it back the way it came.
