Get this new ClearView (http://rcflightsim.com) version ONLY if you had problems setting up your USB controller in 4.26

Version 4.27 fixes a nasty bug in Controller seting screen that poped up in ver. 4.26 If your USB controller was first in the drop down list, the controller will not work unles selected from the drop down list again, or "Accept" button is pressed and the the Controller screen is reloaded.

Thanks,
Stefan

Stefan (or anyone)-

Do you know if CV will work with http://cgi.ebay.com/RC-Simulator-Airplane-Helicopter-ESKY-JR-Flight-Sim-Kit_W0QQitemZ6036112757QQcategoryZ2563QQssPageName ZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
?

If so, will I still have to use ppjoy? I have a problem with my current HB FP2 xmtr that if I poop out the crystal to preserver battery life, the next time I go fly, it doesnt want to communicate with the heli. Also I am thinking if I dont want to go through PPJoy, the controls may be somewhat better.

You are having better luck than me. I donwloaded it, installed it, but when I go to run it, it loads the field and when it attempts to load the model it closes out to the desktop. Tried un/reinstalling twice but I have no clue to what it could be.

Clearview is a Java based app. You need to have (IIRC) JRE 1.1 installed. Works fine on the three or 4 machines I tried it on.

rutat,

ClearView is written in Java but does not need any JRE installed. ClearView installs its own dedicated JRE and will not affect and is not affected by any Java setup on the client machine.

RisingSunn,

If you contacted support, I would tell you to download and install the OpenAL sound driver from the http://rcflightsim.com download page. That would fix your problem. There are some bad sound drivers that need this patch.

Hope this helps,
Stefan

Works great with FMS, but I wanted something better in a sim and still wantes to use my trans,

Any help will be appreciated.

Please noe that I have not activated the program yet, I wanted to see whether I would like it first. I realiz ethat I am only given a few moment to fly before I get grounded. Just want it to work with my trans first......

As long as windows sees it and you can calibrate it in windows game controllers, it will work just fine. Pleas make sure you calibrate it in the control panel-game controllers first

I downloaded CV and successfully loaded it on my computer. However, when I attempt to run it, the graphics load fine, the heli loads OK, but when I start the sim, the heli immediately rolls and pitches on the ground and crashes. It continues to repeat this behavior. I'm trying to use my USB G2 controller with CV but it does not seem to work. Is it possible to use this controller with CV? Do I need to load a new controller driver?

Yes, you can use the G2 controller. You must first set the program to use that controller.

Start ClearView, select "Setup" then "Controller Setup". Click on the controllers drop down box at the top of the screen and you will see a list of controllers. Select your controller from there. Then, click on the four drop down control boxes on the right and assign the controls.

If you select a controller and the drop down boxes on the right are empty, read this as well:

Sometimes G2/G3 controller registers multiple HID devices. In result, you will see more than one controller listed in ClearView. In that case, the name is the same, then followed by *** and 01,02,03 etc. Only one of the controllers is the real, and all the rest are dummy and will not work. ClearView can not distinguish the working one, that is why ClearView adds *** 01, *** 02 etc. at the end of the controller names to allert you. If that is the case, try separatelly to select each one of them. Then click on the controls drop down boxes on the right. They will be empty for dummy controllers. They will not be empty only for one of the entires. This is the name for the actual controller. Set the controls and accept the settings.

Hope this helps,
Stefan

Well, I tried using my G2 TX with Clearview using Stefan's advice. I'm still having problems with it. Has anyone successfully setup and used the G2 TX with Clearview? If so, any advice on doing this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using G2 controller just fine...I had to disable 3 devices in the device manager under :

Human Interface Devices
HID-Compliant Device
HID-Compliant Device
HID-Compliant Device
HID-Compliant Game Controller

disable the first 3 by right-clicking on them and select disable
