I have an old Chris Craft Coba That I made many many years ago. Would like to update it with an ESC and jel cell battery and fiber glass the hull, and repaint it. Here is what is in the it now.
Dumas Pitman model 9004-6 4.5 to 6 volt 2.5A max motor, direct drive.
Futaba Attach- SR 2 ch AM. Servos S3003 and an old mechanical speed control from Dumas. I know freq. is for aircraft but We live in a rual area and no RC folks for hundred of miles.
So what I am asking is for part numbers, manufacturer and to get it back into the water. Thanks. :)

Armound, I have my Cobra set up with a Dumas 6V High Speed motor, Hitek EZX-R ESC w/BEC and a 6 or 7 cell 3300 NiMH battery. It runs great on that set-up using the kit supplied prop.
If you have to mail order anyway, a good source for all the above items is Hobbies-N-Stuff here in ABQ. They can be contacted at 505-293-1217, or by e-mail at info@hobbies-n-stuff.com. Ask for Stan, and tell him I sent you. That way if there's any questions he'll call me and ask -- just to be sure you get the right stuff!

I would dump the idea of the gel cell ( too heavy ) and go with the 6-7 cell pack. The Pittman motor is a good slow speed motor but a 550 series motor will get the boat up on plane. An ideal ESC would be the one ProBoat makes, at $40 it's a bargain.

Hi green-boat, very good suggestion. Will dump the gel cell idea. At the present time I have it wired for 4 "D" cells. But will go with Pats suggestion of 6 or 7 cell NiMH Thanks
