does anyone know if there is a recahragble 1.5V AA size available ?
Thanks

The only ones that I know are the RayOVac Renewals but they are alkaline rechargeables.

The chemical reaction in NiCd and NiMH batteries limit them to approximately 1.2V. You can't alter the laws of physics, as certain combinations of metals make certain voltages.
Like MK says, the only 1.5V rechargeables out there are the alkalines, and I don't think they can take the kind of abuse that NiCds can.
May I ask what you want this battery for? Perhaps someone can come up with a suitable solution using NiCds.

Hi
We use these in Canada and they are great. And are 1.5volts and recharge them 1000 times.

Thanks for the response . Actually it is not for parkflyers . It is for a RC car (for my little daughter) which runs on 8AAs (12V) , using 1.2V 8 Cells does affect its speed and was wondering if NiCD /Nimh is available in 1.5V . I am a dummy in terms of battery knowledge and use 4.8V/9.6V system for my rx/Tx flyin.
Thanks
BTW can these rechargable alkalines be charged with those nicd/nimh chargers?

I dont know if this helps but when I swapped 8 1.5 V alkalines for 8 1.2 V NiCd's in an RC car it actually went faster. I think it might have been to do with how the cells perform under load. For example, the alkalines may drop 0.5 volts per cell under load where the NiCd's might only drop 0.1 volt per cell.

No, you need a special charger to recharge those alkalines. However, NiCd's would work - good ones would give you similar performance.

What do you guys say about using 8 AA 1700 NiMH in a rc car .Do you think NiCD would do better than these .
What kind of car is it? If you have space, you can make your own pack with 10 NiMH to equate it to 8x1.5v.

That is a good idea . It is a cheap rc car from Megatech called switchblade or somthing . So , do NiMH perform better than NiCD in this type of application ?
If it's a cheap Megatech car, I would just use NiMH. They have longer run times over nicads and so what if you loose a bit of speed over alkalines. At least you can recharge them.
Since it's a non-competition car I wouldn't worry about getting state of the art batteries.

I decided to go with 1700 mah Nimh and will figure out if I can add 2 extra cells somehow .

hey bro. if its a standard elec. RC Car, it should use a 6 cell standard rc 7.2 pack from the hobby shop. no?
