I would like to ask a question, I bet that it has been asked before but here goes........ I'm thinking of buying a charger that will charge all of my various batteries lying around my house, everything from a d cell 8100mah single to photo cells......... I have it down to roughly 3 chargers
1- Swallow Advance
2- Great planes Tridon
3- Megapower infinity 660sr
I have a Supernova 250s but it is starting to show its age and it doesn’t do li-po's :(
I invite your advice......and I'm open to other chargers???
Thanks David

The Supernova 3000 also does the lot . I upgraded from the 250s to the 3000 .

The hyperion eos7i is also a very nice unit. I just got one. I also have the supernova, the triton and the swallow advance. I like the triton, but the hyperion seems to be very nice to use and has the highest wattage rating of those listed.

For most park stuff, the Swallow Advance is definately a great buy. I could do with another 2 or three :D

Ive got the swallow, and its great for everything, except the auto cycling of batts. All you need are aligator clips and magnets and youve got a charger for all household battereies

Owen,
Do you perhaps mean auto-cycling of Lipos (which I notice it doesn't have, perhaps for safety reasons?). I found mine auto-cycles fine with NiMH/NiCd, the trick is to use the Charge->discharge cycle, because then the unit will know what pack you're using (since it'll determine that from the charge peak voltage).

Yes, i meant the NiXX cycling, I find mine doesnt detect, and discharges to 0.5v per cell (scarry). so i try to do it manually.
Well any charger will do normal battereies anyway, but i find the hyperion chargers from aircraft world expensive. Id get the better charger if youve already got a pretty good one, from www.eflypower.com, the yellow "megapower" one. Its all just a rebadged charger, same innerds. ive seen 6 names for the swallow charger already.

After using many GWS and Hitec field chargers I finally bought the Swallow Advance. Best electric RC purchase I have made so far!
I use it to charge my ELEmodel Lipo's with the dualsky 3cell inline balancer and get awesome results. Highly recommended

For a LiPo charger i think we all agree that the swallow is still the best option.
Should be available from your LHS, for 99, but if they try selling it to you at more than 110 then buy it from modelflight.com.au for 99 and express post it to arrive in 2 days.

Those servos are GREAT. and the charger too...
Im some 3000km away from my RC planes and im gettting twitchy (might have to do with the loss of radio reception at this distance). I brought my swallow along, but i think ill need to get another for my dad back home in perth.

Yep I find Addies prices are either the same or lower than any online prices and some items are the cheapest I've seen anywhere.
I buy everything there.. :D
