Don,
I had a great time. Took me awhile to find that link, so here it is for everyone to see. Its a zagi mounted video camera. excellent video, editing and sound track, but sorry to say, it lacks a good story. This is the best Carter Dam aerial video I've seen to date. Its a must see video.

http://epowerflight.com/downey/carters.wmv 32 megs, so long download.

Dave

PS Lets go again.

Here are the better pictures I took of our flying session. They are mostly of the guys DSing. I would have loved to get some pictures of the combat session, But too busy flying and couldn't put the transmitter down. :D There was good lift most of the time. I was able to DS my Raider wing for a few laps and slingshot out to the front side, I see why everyone gets addicted. I need to get the mustang done or get a JW60 and have at it. I had a blast!! Dave thanks for the invite.

John Kestler makes another video. Yup, he updated his web page with some combat footage from Saturday. These guys from Atlanta really know how to make and mix video.

Nice video don. Were you the one doing all the rolling passes? Or were you shooting video?

Both

Hey wheatie, Is your Z in slope or thermal shape? If it is still real nice I call that Thermal. If its beat a bit it is time for the big slope.
Could you break away for a road trip to Carters? Its 1 1/2 north of Atlanta I think. Need to get Berger as well.

Wheatie,
Don has a miniture camera attached to his sunglasses. Amazingly small and a bit like 007. Chrome Dome would be envious. I wish I had taken a picture of his camera setup. Larry, did you get a photo?

In other news, in case you get bored, John Kestler (from Atlanta) just uploaded a 3MB animation of some still photos from this past weekend to his website.

Well it's in the middle of a rebuild right now. I tore it apart after messing up the radio gear. (Stupid mistake) I am going to try iron on film this time and give it to my brother to fly but I was hoping to make it "thermal" shape but it is really for my brother to cut his teeth on. I am hoping to have it in the air by this weekend. I also have that "replacement" kit they sent me for the shipping damage last time but I was planning on building it for "thermal" too.
All that to say that I would definitely like to get in on some group slope action. (part of the reason for getting two in flying shape) Yeah I need to look into exactly how long it would take to get to the dam from Birmingham. I'm up for a trip though just a matter of timing and weather conditions. I talked to Berger last week. We need to get together for some flying.

This might be a camera like Black Widow AV sells (or a knock-off) recorded on something like my MPVR. The MPVR will support up to a 2 gig SD card and only weighs 6 ounces and is pocket size. I suppose Don could be using a whole 2.4 gHz wireless setup but it is more reliable writing directly to memory. Hopefully Don will clue us in.
