Here it is... finally.... there may still be some minor changes before the actual design is thrown to the laser cutters (perhaps a canard)...

(notice the new GWS 8MSL+ receiver ... and of course the FullRiver 2S2200 lipo packs, seems to drive this beast well with the GWS 2205 motor/ESC pair)

WOW NICE. the longer nose looks somewhat more proportionate to me now. (maybe it was the camera angle)
Good job.
Maybe you could do a little faring between the body and the wing to smooth out the lines. (isnt it late over where you are.... 3AM!!!! (but then what am i doing up at 1am...))

Looks neat Paul , you shaw are a prolific builder- designer . I see a lot of people are disgarding the elevator on their P-cats & running elevons & say they fly just as well . Maybe worth a try .

WOW is that tape i see on top of the terminals of the 12V lead acids? :D
Removing the elevator is pretty simple for cats since the elevator has a short moment so its original stabilising effect was minimal, thus if it flies as a cat its likely to already be trimmed out as a wing. If you make it a wing it will look pretty slick.
got it flying yet? or will do later today.
Love to hear about it

Owen,
Yep, that's tape on them alright. It's to stop me accidently dropping a screwdriver across the terminals etc. While the cells may be technically "Dead" (hence why I use them for lead weights ;) ) I don't like to take the risk.
If I get the canard version worked out after this, i'll be dropping the hstab, for now though I'm trying to get started with a stable platform and then work out from there.
Flying will happen in an hour or two - right now the day-star is a bit strong and it might cause the skin of the pilot to peel off.
Paul.

LOL ok.
A canard design will look REAL SLICK on that wing. Probably will need a longer nose again, but will look great.
Good luck on flight

Okay, as some of you have already heard, the plane flew very well today, except in the last 4 seconds... where it again plunged to its death.
I've pretty much decided that it's the fault of the v-tail mixer, so I've removed that and subsequently have lost my ability to have flaps :(
After crying over the coffee machine for a bit, I put the jigsaw puzzle back together and it's now sitting on my bench awaiting tommorow's 4th flight.
