Thanks, Solarfilm is really sweet. The metallic red is just dazzling... Here's another pic.

Cheers,

used adobe illustrator to make the leaf, printed it out and cut the pattern in red -- then overlaid the white using the windex trick -- works really well.

I've attached the illustrator file -- zipped... if thats no good for you, let me know what format you need.

WOW. That is really cool! Do you mind if I use it on my new build? I was hoping to deviate from the stock look anyway, and this would be perfect. Here's a link... http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=468485

On topic now... I'm pretty close in Guelph. (In RCGroups standards anyway.) There are a few London flyers around here too. So hopefully they'll chime in for ya. How long have you been flying? ........... Man, I can't get that plane of yours out of my head now!...........

Thanks for the praise. Use anything you like. If I can provide anything digital to help -- let me know...

I've been flying for a year and change with the following hanger...

*HZ Aerobird
*HZ Aerobird Xtreme
*GWS Tiger Moth 400 - stock motor + 3s 1570 Apogee + FMA Super 30 esc, JR Sport 4ch non-computer radio
*GWS Tiger Moth 400 - himax 2025/5300 + cobri 6.3:1 gb + CC Phoenix 35 esc
*GWS Formosa with above himax/cobri/2100 3s prolite batt/CC esc/radio
*StevensAero Stella(as pictured) w/ himax/cobri, 10x4.7, 3s-2100,cc35,JRsport

I doubt I'll ever go foam again, unless I cave in for a Formosa II ;-)

StevensAero kits rock. Edge is my next build.

Cheers,

diviatix.

Diviatix,

That Stella is a great built. Nice job.

I wanted to get one of their kits too, what shipping option did you used? How lond does it takes to get here?

Regards.

P.S. I have no interested in starting a thread on foam vs. wood -- just for my own learning: What steers you away from foam kits?

I ordered my Stella from a Canadian distributor (www.zebrahobby.ca)-- they are in Alberta I believe... Saves on customs/postage/time. Came quick.

I am still fond of my foam planes and I think they are valid flyers. As I get more into the hobby however, I find I am more interested in the building process than I used to be. All I can say is build your Stella -- you will see what impressed me, I'm sure. Beautifully engineered -- looks good -- flies great.

Cheers,

diviatix.

PS: I am interested in your feedback if/when you start your Stella build...
Only one mod I would recommend for Stella. The balsa sheet that the dowels for the main wing go into in the wing saddle should have some of the extra plywood bonded to the inside surface before you install it. The strengthened plate will keep the dowel holes from getting ripped if you cartwheel -- ask how I know... You can do it after, but b4 is better. :-)

Hi: I have a A-10 Warthog, starting to build, and live in Innerkip. Woodstock has lots of nitro and electric flyers out there. The r/c club should have a web page up. Paris has a good bunch of electric park flyers too. Contact me by email Jsutherland8@aol.com

Beautifull Stella.

I love the Stevens aero kits too! Been flying my RV-4 to death using a himaxx 2015/4100 4.4:1 gearing on a 9x6 apc. I considered trying the same scheme on the tail but left it blank cause i couldnt reproduce that nice scheme :)
