I bought one of these dogs because it looked as if it had so much potential, the first one had a leak in the engine, the return to shore gears kept on falling off, the return to shore motor terminals kept on falling off. The water pickup just doesn't work. Ithe store gave me a new one. 60 seconds after i put the deals on, the piston broke. A friend of mine also has a villain, he had some of the same problems, not all.

Am I the only one or what? Should I spend any money on this thing when it comes back or not?

You have unfortunately fallen into the traps of the 'box art boats' which means pretty box, crappy boat. You can upgrade these but in the end you could have bought a real quality boat for about the same or less.

Have a look here:

or

http://www.fastelectrics.com/nitro.asp

Both of these outfits are great to deal with and really know thier stuff.

Odd. I have not had any reliability/quality problems with my Villian EX or my Nitro Vee.

My Villian EX performs flawlessly and fast! I am exceedingly fond of it. The only "problem" is the frequency of use my chargers get. That thing will suck down the electrons like there is no tomorrow!

My Nitro Vee is quite reliable. No mechanical difficulties whatsoever. Not even after I sunk it (all my fault). Admittedly, it is not nearly as fast as most other nitro boats in the water, but I am sure I will be able to play with it until I can get it to be. Tinkering with the boats on the workbench is half of the fun anyway!
