Im surprised that no one has responded to either of my questions.
The SSSH club at one stage had just over 50 members [few years back].
Surely theres a member or 2 on this forum...
Wonderfull slope to fly at the SSSH. theres ridges heading off in every direction so no matter where the lift is coming from its only a 2 min walk to the correct ridge. Its one of those natures unique slope systems...
SSSH stands for Slope Soaring Summer Holme.Located on the slopes of what is affectionatley called "One Tree" because of a humungous tree on the northern slope...

Try Red Bank Summerholm Silent Flyers, they use an area up near a scenic look out in the laidely area, they do require MAAQ licence/insurance tho'

Silent Flight, Life is stressfull enough as it is. Try and put aside an afternoon over the weekend just for YOURSELF to enjoy.
I KNOW youd be made welcome on One Tree hill. Ill give actual directions on how to get there if anyone would like.
Pop onto their website and let them know youre coming would be the best way.
What do you fly out of interrest ? And an hour away can be just about anywhere in the great south east. Where do you come from ?
Cheers.. Rod

One Tree is the club sight for RSSF, Redbank took over Laidley when the club fell through a couple of years back
It's not a public site for flying, and if anyone would like to fly there, please petition the club for an application form to join. I urge this to be done out of respect for any club's flying field and also for insurance. If you dont' want to join the club, then I would suggest attending their fly-in days which are usually held twice a year (MAAA license required).
I believe general rule of thumb for MAAQ is that you are allowed 3 visits to a site whilst in attendance of a club member or club instructor, after which if you want to continue flying at that site, you need to join the club.
I also know that joining RSSF is subject to an approval vote from the club, as it is a capped club, membership is limited.
Hope that helps
