For fun, lets have a poll of what music you think would be great for a flying video.
Vote for one the following selections.

Rock
Rock (pop)
Country
Big BAnd
TV/Movie Theme song
Jazz

Let me know if you have a favorite.

Do we get to choose the song too?

I'm torn between continuing on with the Shakespearean theme and a Big-Band style opening with a trumpet or drums drift. Oh but then there is "Love Story" in the Movie category.....

Hey, how about an inter-mixed playlist ending with a cresendo of the winning genre :D

I like your thinking. Yes, help choose the song too. Yes, there will be more surprises.

To all you fliers:
Do the poll, then add your favorite song title in the reply, (if you have one). Of course I will be very interested if your choice is related to something that flies. Something like "sailing" by Christopher Cross, or "blackbirds" by the beatles.
Thanks,
Dave

The poll let me vote for more than one choice, so I voted for Rock and Movies theme;

Movies Theme: Theme song to Robinhood Prince of Theives (Kevin Costner)

Rock: "We WIll Rock You" This theme may work better for Sloping, because of the usual "We Are the Champions" which customarily follows the Queen classic.

Rock: "Silent Lucidity" by Queensriche kinda has a nice big band/ballad appeal to it.

Movies Theme: Theme to Airforce One (Harrison Ford)

That's not an easy question for me.... I will have to answer "ROCK" for the category, but depending on the style of flying and what transpires in the altercation I will give a few choices.

If it's a mellow sort of scuffle I might say 60's classic rock... maybe Creedence Clearwater Revival "Run through the jungle".

If there is more suspenseful moods....I say 80's rock... something like Survivor "Eye of the tiger".

If it's a fast, brutal fight with carnage... I would go with something a little harder...maybe Metallica "Master of puppets".

just my opinion :D

I'm sure it's already been done but how about some Top Gun music. If some guys flew some park jets or something that could be pretty cool. Then mix in some clips from the actual movie.

Well, I'm waiting to see what kind of flying ideas THE MAN might have if he were to use a rousing march, or even better, an Alford march. "Army of the Nile", especially. (For those of you that might be wondering, Alford's "Colonel Bogey" march was the tune that the Brit prisoner's in the movie "Bridge over the River Kwai" would whistle.)

I didn't know Rock was music. :-) How about Up Where You Belong. Or if you insist on rockk, then Great Pretender (pretending you are flying well).

I'm liking the suggestions. If you got your music in MP3 format, then send it to me via email, (ChuckA and Jim H I know you guys won't). If you have a disk that I can rip, then we can meet at the flying field. I'd love to borrow the DVD too. The Top Gun suggestion would be fun.

You guys who put classical, I need your mp3's too.

Come on. It is Mozart's 250th birthday (tomorrow I think). Gotta use some Mozart. How about something from his Requiem for the next sloping furball?

Like that from Apocalypse Now

Richard Wagner

One of the film's most impressive, memorable sequences. The crazed Kilgore has ordered the music: "We'll come in low out of the rising sun, and about a mile out, we'll put on the music...Yeah, use Wagner. Scares the hxxl out of the slopes. My boys love it."

The "Ride of the Valkyries" - an excellent choice!
