I’m getting back into the hobby (obsession) again after many years of being away. I am looking for an intermediate to advanced kit or plan to build. My building skills are very good to excellent. Looking for something for thermal flying with a wing span of about 120 inches. More interested in rudder, elevator, spoiler and maybe flap.

If you remember the LJMP Pantera or Meteor that is the kind of ship I am looking for.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

The Houston Hawk is a good choice. It was my first big RES.

Plans and short kit available from M & S Models, Lots more pictures and building instructions here...

You might also take a look at Ray Hayes WWW.SKYBENCH.COM bird series
he's got the "Sky Bird 132" RES. You can modify it to take flaps with no problems.....Its' got a nice airfoil in S3014 floats when you want it to, go fast if you want it.....wind conditions no problem, can fly in anything....laser cut kit so it goes together really nice.......
