Hi Jurgen,
What are you doing over here in the 'wet patch'? I didn't realise that you dabbled in boats as well! I've just started in RC boat activity mainly so that I'll have something to fiddle with when it's too windy to fly electric. I must say that the range of boat kits is impressive and building them looks interesting, although I'm not sure that 'sailing' one will be as gripping as RC flying.

General rule of thumb:
CG is just aft of the rear of the spnsons, on a 24 " hydro it is usually 1.5 to 2" back of the sponsons. So extrapolate for the length of your hydro and you should be close.
Also rudder should be on the left side when viewed from the rear, and it is adviseable to offset the drive shaft a quarter inch to the right of center (viewed from aft). This helps offset prop torque.
