Hello friends,
Ms. Ally could type Japanese in replying your question, however
English would be more practical when referring to me. Sorry for
my poor Japanese.

Ally, Chen,
Other members here including me will help Japanese user to communicate with you. However, is this thread for sales?? Japanese users want more support than sales now.
I see so many new small dealers/auction sellers sell GWS products at the lowest price as one shot deal now. (no continuous stock, support) I see new brushless ESC/motor combo is sold at 4,230 yen. (waaay lower than US retail), Formosa II at 5,300 yen. I guess they are low enough to discourage most resellers to carry. It is very good to see we can get them such low price. However, where is support? I will find them at the lowest price and will fly but I cannot recommend the risk to my friend, average flyer.
I would suggest you to open support and fulfillment channel for Japanese users.
I have been GWS fan before it is widely available here and want many others can enjoy the same. Just my 2 cents.

Hi Satoru,
Thank you for your suggestion. Very insight info. I will pay more attention on the issue you mentioned here. Will also let dealers in Japan be aware of this.
I hope for average flyers can get better service.
Thanks

I agree strongly with the opinion of Satoru.
To our regret, the product of GWS will not sell in Japan if it is not
cheap.
Because they are disposable products in Japan.
The dealer of GWS seems not to be supporting it as of now.
Additionally, seeing the sales activity of GWS in this Japanese forum makes me feel
uneasiness.
Does not that have the opposite result to what was intended for GWS?
For me, it is a very welcome to exchange a frank opinion for GWS.
A lot of Japanese are to be interested in support information on the
GWS product.
It is necessary to be translated into Japanese if possible.
A lot of people cooperate here.

SatoruSooner or later, GWS will open a GWS Japan to back up the demand and service for Japanese flyers. :)
You can see GWS just open GWS USA two years ago, since our distributors did not carry enough stock to meet the flyers request for years... :p

Yet, we just start our GWS China factory operation since last year. :)

We expect that we can gain our production capacity and improve the quality too, yet cost down our products to compete with those China copy makers.

I hope GWS will have presence in Japan model show with her!
Seriously, it will be the way to go GWS to open some fulfillment facility here at least. Sell through dealer with low minimum order. Also you will need to translate docs. It is tough for any one distributor to do it with existence of multiple channel. (Air Craft has posted various translated info on servo, kits on the web, other parties free riding on it.)
Again, it is a great help to have a direct communication path to GWS here. Thanks.

Dear Satoru San, where is the best location for the distribution in Japan with good transportation connections, but less operation cost?
Since Japan property are so expensive, no matter to rent or buy! :p
My uncle and cusons live in Chiba ken. Some where Kita-Nanashino... ;)
I had visited Japan more than hundred times! :)
Especially, during my age of late 20s ( 1980s ). I was importing Futaba and JR Radios into Taiwan. :) Also many other Japanese RC products as well.

Dear Satoru San, where is the best location for the distribution in Japan with good transportation connections, but less operation cost?
Near my house! :D
Seriously, interesting subject. I live in Urayasu in Chiba, close to Narashino. There are many warehouses and fulfillment facilities. Amazon has their operation near-by for example. Closer from Narita, closer to Tokyo. I think majority of shipments are to Tokyo area or Osaka area. If number of shipment is not huge, you can be in local area if it is reasonably close to airport and seaport. The most successful electric distributor is in Kyushu. :)
You can also consider to use third party vendors for warehousing and fulfillment, re-working inventory and simple customer service as well. When I worked for a American package software company, I contracted a vendor in Tukuba to fulfillment. They took care of working with forwarder, stock, pick up upon instruction, taking indivisual order and ship. They can also re-work or fix invenotory on demand. Everything remote controlled from our manufacturing in Ireland. Scalability worked fine.
As per collecting money, you do not need to form a local entity. There is a way to contract warehouse in Japan, stock your inventory already cleared custom, ship to vendor/indivisual upon oder, collect money to your foreign account in Japanese yen. (Yen account of foreign bank in Japan.) You will need to collect local sales tax but you do not need to pay any other corporate tax here. This warehouse works as a kind of 'buffer' between you and your customer. From customer, they do not need to worry about import. They send order to your office (you need Japanese speaking agent!) They can process as regular local purchase because goods are already cleared custom, ready to ship same day by truck. One of my dealer in Japan was big trading company, they did not understand this scheme but finally they admitted it works well.
For customer support, you can use them or contract with your existing partner, or you can set up your own support office. They will work as 'cost office' seprate from above schema, save tax here again.
I am not sure this work between Japan and your country, may depend on tax treaty (not sure) you need to consult with professional.

Dear Mr. Satoru:
It seems the way of third party vendor works better, warehousing, fulfillment, service and re-working. However collecting money is much important, like what you said a contract
warehouse(it's more than a distributor) in Japan works fine.
Could you state more about the difference between a third party
vendor and a contract warehouse. I'd believe Mr. Lin would like
to have a most cost effective one but TAX would be an important issue. If GWS needs to collect Japanese local sales tax
from buyers then GWS needs to pay the same to Japan TAX Bureau back. How would GWS then be free from corporate tax in Japan legally?
Sorry, it's not the subject of this thread!!
Sorry for my sharp questions, too.
Your reply would be highly appreciated.

Hello Mr. Chen,
Yes, that is one of key points. Foreign company can and needs to register as sales tax collector, collect sales tax and report/pay to government. It does not mean foreign company needs to form local entity. Sales tax and corporate tax is different.
Please feel free to ask, I will dig out my memory how it worked.

Hi Satoru San
Thank you for your kind reply. Would you let me know why your
former boss did not contract a warehouse in Japan as it worked
better than a third party vendor. Thanks

Hello Mr. Chen,
Yes, you are correct. That vendor is a warehouse who has some package manufacturing/re-work and call center capability that we needed (so called fulfillment service vendor). Any intelligent contract warehouse will work if you do not need such service.

Dear Satoru San:
It's nice to have your reply quickly, Sorry for my late reply.
I'd keep my boss well informed of these facts if he'd like to seek a base in your country. It would be much better than establishing a branch office in Japan. Your former Boss was smart.
