I have been tentatively looking into getting a pair of HS225MG servos. I haven't seen them here anywhere, and besides, the prices here for brand name servos (apart from the GWS ones) are often without proportion to what they cost abroad.
So I sat down and send a few e mails. Here's the result (in US$)

their prices are just like the ones in the US!

Only a few items.

They are conveniently a 5 minute walk from where I work, but they stock very little electrics stuff. For me. they're ok for bits of balsa, glue etc. but the "real" stuff I get "elsewhere".

How about them importing the servos/electronics you need in their next shipment and selling it at nominal prices? It might be worth the wait. Am I correct that their prices are the best? they have changed their website (It used to play music...)

great job Rene,

I occasionally buy from RCgroups members and other online stores and found that the best value shipping method to Israel is USPS - "global priority mail". these are fixed price envelopes in three different sizes that cost 5$-9$, no matter what you put in them.

shipping usually takes 4-5 days (kind of priority shipping) and it's not expensive. I found out about it from "cheapbatterypacks.com". they use this shipping method and it's always the fastest and cheapest.

these envelopes will contain all electric components (batteries, motors, esc...), no model planes off course...

so always ask for it.

good luck, Oded.

Hi Guys,

Do any of you have any experience with shipping batteries to Israel?

Do we need to pay any taxes?

What is the maximum price of the batteries which dows not envolve taxes?

Thanks,

Rony

not if your package makes it's way through the haifa customs office :( 1 cent over $50 and you're making the trip there to pick it up and to pay VAT

having stuff shipped to an address in the center is much more likely to have it slip through without getting a nasty letter from customs.

for expensive, specialized electronics that don't show up in the lists at customs it is also worth having someone in the states ship them to you with no invoice in the box and a reduced price on the customs lable. if and when the get held in customs then for "proof of price" bring them a "modified" price list printed from the vendors web page...

FS8 receiver including all sensors costs only $40....
