Anyone doing anything RC related? Or anything exciting at all? My Sav is
all tucked up at at home whilst i'm at uni. Apparantly HPi are releasing
full specs of the new Savage X on their website later today which is
rumoured to have some of the following -

2 Channel Radio
Shorter Antenna Wire (50cm compared to 100cm). Modified Crystal placement
for a more reliable centered receiver.

New Roto Start
New more durable case, with circuit breaker overload protection

New Body (GT-2)
Wider, more aggressive body, new graphics, and color

All Right Hand Thread Wheel Nuts
No more Right and Left handed Thread Wheel Nuts, making it more convenient.

All new 4.1 Engine
New crankcase design makes for more consistent temperature. Upgrade to
cylinder, piston, connecting rod and crankshaft produces more power.

Easy to Access the Differentials in the Front and Rear Gear Boxes
This gear box has been designed to allow for easier maintenance with
simplified access to parts. Only six screws have to be removed to access the
front or rear diff without dismantling the main chassis or suspension.

Easy to Access the Radio Box
Easily removed top cover for quick maintenance. Does not use body pin. More
space inside radio box, room for failsafe and a knockout for a battery
Indicator and for an optional charging jack.

Easy to Access the Center Gear Box
Only six screws have to be removed to remove top of center gear box, without
dismantling the chassis. It makes maintenance easier for spur gear and 2
speed/3speed gear box. It aslo has an extra hole for adjustment of 1-2 shift
on the 3 speed.

Lower CG TVP Chassis
Engine, center gear box, radio box is 5mm lower than 25 RTR, It make lower
center of gravity for better handling.New design TVP's also help protect the
fuel tank.

Light weight Suspension Arm
Lightweight Suspension Arms for better performance.

Turnbuckle Tie Rod
Easy to adjust front and rear toe.

Three position Shock Tower
More shock positions for suspension tuning

Hight capacity Slipper Clutch System
Extra capacity dual slipper clutch for minimum drive train damage.

Plastic Roll Bar
Roll bar flexes to absorb impact from crashes. Kits will include a plastic
roll cage to protect the engine head. Rool Cage will be included but not
installed.

17mm Hex wheel Hub
Large size 17mm hex wheel hub for added durability.

Tuned Pipe with Optional Cone
Double Chamber make more torque. Will be a little quieter with optional cone
installed

New 17mm hex size Wheel
New design wheels with 17mm hex wheel hub size. Optional 14mm hexs included
for everyone who wants to run standard Savage wheels.

New Tires
New tread pattern. Same diameter, same width and same compound from 25 RTR
4464 GT Tire. Lighter weight, more performance.

So I guess time will tell...

Hear, hear! We tomorrow folk are getting sick of being ahead yet
strangely having to wait for the past to catch up?? And I'm sick of
being a virtual RC hobbyist! I do lots of reading and drooling, and
collecting pics but haven't had the spare cash to buy one of these cool
monsters! When are they bringing out the inflatable Savage what costs
only $19.95 ($AUS baby!) and outperforms the current model? And can be
used on water and in the air?

Pretty neat!
It looks like that they would have just put 17 hubs on it instead of
hexes...
Guess though this way they can sell new type wheels and hex adapters to all
the T-Maxx owners.
Appears the nylon roll bar attaches yet again to the transmission holes
*sigh*... atleast it also appears though to have an edge at the mounting
surface so the chassis takes some of the impact instead of just the screws.
Have to get one (nylon bar) and see if it can mount just to the chassis
somewhere in there and not the tranny.
I don't really see anything much there that would have me racing out to get
another one..
Just would like to try the roll bar and the wider body would be nice.

No kidding! Even Tower's price is reasonable and well below my guess.
Methinks this bad boy is gunna replace the Savage 25 and become the new
"staple Savage."

Gonna wait till there good and mainstream and order parts off of ebay from
the sellers that strip them... If you already have a Savage..I bet by this
time next year you could have a Savage X for less than $100 in parts and
slap them on the Sav you already own....

Easy change diffs and transmission case are on my hit list. I've been
yearning to change the gear ratio in my Sav but really don't feel like
taking the goddamned gearbox apart again to adjust 1-2...........with the
new case I wouldn't have to! Yippee!

Looks like I'm gunna get rained out today. Yesterday was BEAUTIFUL! 60*
and sunny with a light breeze, but did dummy here used the weather for other
purposes like washing and waxing both of my 1:1 trucks and cleaning out my
garage. Should have ran em' as it's raining buckets out there now and shows
no signs of stopping. ;-(

Well, after we'd been running for ages, I stopped to let her cool and noted
the airfilter had gone... Started her up and she ran ok tho, took a little
effort to start... God knows how much sand went through and ported the
engine...
