just downloaded fms today and already I want more planes  I tried downloading a plane, copy and pasted the par. file into the model selection folder and it wont work. When you click on the icon there is no image of the plane and when you select it nothing happens except for the previous aircraft becomes invisible. am i doing somthing wrong?

What version of FMS and what version of the planes? WHere are you putting the plane? Note that some planes do not have an "avatar" (preview).

It's the FMS 2.0 Beta sim and I've tried about 5 diffrent planes from diffrent sites. I copy the par. file, open the game, acess the model folder and paste it. Is there any other way to put them in the model folder? I have also double checked even if they didnt have an avatar. thanks

You need more than just the .PAR file. For instance for the Mapgie 4 ch there should be at least 6 files. .X, .MQO .PAR and image files etc.

and how do you put those files in the game?

just unzip ALL the files for a plane into the MODELS directory. Note that you CANNOT have them in a subdirectory of the MODELS file.

One of the best ways to do this is download the Auto downloader (http://www.tti-us.com/sim/dlmgr.html) from Tom's RC. This program takes quite a long time to download all of the models, but will get you many, many planes to fly.

^ when I click that I get a bunch of works and stuff? I found a superstar ep but I think it might be corrupt because the plane just sits there making noise and wont do anything

More info needed to debug. The loader pgm uses a different location than the default of FMS so you have to specify that when you load (Open) a model or landscape.

FMS 2.8 models will just sit there if you're running version 2.7. Please run FMS 2 alpha 8.5 which will fly both types of model.

Hey guys, I just purchased the USB cable for my Futaba 6exa to use this FMS. I haven't used it yet. How closely does it represent flying the real deal? I have an Ultimate and a Yak 55 both are profiles. Will FMS be similar to flying those? Thanks.

Not really... wont help you much with hover, but it will help with general coordination.

I thought so. Well its still something to do on rainy days then. I was hoping it would be something to practice 3D with.

Ok, I got it installed and I used it once. I tried it later and I can't calibrate it. It won't even move in the calibration mode. Whats up? It worked fine the first time. I have checked everything and everything is set correctly. Confused.............

Well, I had to open up PIC96CHK and set that to the correct com port as well. It works fine now.
