Hi there,
I'm glad to announce you that my Quiet Storm modelisation is finished.
It took about 50 hours of computer work for the design, and more than 2 weeks to set up the flying model, with the help of a friend (Guillaume83) who has also a Quiet Storm.
Final results is quite close to the real R/C plane.
You can download (4 free of course) the modelisation in the download section of my website:

A review was wrote to describe this modelisation :

(in french, use google to translate)

Thanks, rutat.
You're right, exactly 1000 polygones.

It is very interesting for me to fly the Quiet Storm because it is the model
I was thinking of buying. (Then the Katana Mini came out and I bought
one instead.) As compared with the Freedom 3D from W3, which is
what I have been using for practice, its wings are much thinner. From
some angles this makes the plane harder to see. It likes to fly quite a bit
faster, and needs more throttle, and I am finding it is less forgiving. It
is quite nice, but it doesn't make me regret the decision I made.
The wells look a little sunk into the grass; sometimes it crashes
spontaneously when taking of or taxiing.
Thanks for an interesting model.

WOW what a beaut model. Just love the looks of the model(your computer model).
Thanks for making it.

(how realistically does it fly, might consider doing something that I can blame you for... $$$$ lol)

hello osmium_192
Thanks for your kind words.
I'm not sure of my understanding about your last sentence (my "frenglish" is so bad...), but as I said it before, the flight model is quite close to our Quiet Storms, which are powered with an AXI2808/24 and a 10x5 prop.
Probably, I will update this modelisation with a new flight model in the next days or weeks :
According to us and differents pilots opinions, it seems that a 9x6 prop should be better for this model with this motor. This should give a little bit more pitchspeed to this model which is more designed for pattern than 3D.
I'm waiting better days (actually, temperatures are so cold here...) to try this
My idea by posting this QS for XTR here, in this great R/C forum, was to have the opinion of some Quiet Storm (and XTR) veterans owners, in order to improve if necessary this QS modelisation....
Regards,
Laurent.

Hi Owen
lol :D
Probably you will blame me, because what you said is true :
2 persons who tried the QS at my club bought a QS in the following week ! :D

Laurent.

Hello Moos,
Yes, this happens sometimes, I don't know why...
Please, go to the aircraft appearance configuration dialog box, and Choose the QuietSorm :
Menu "Model" => "Modify Model Params" (or press F5)
In the first Drop list (Model Appearance), choose the QuietStorm
Press OK
This should be fine.
Best,
Laurent.

hi Laurent,
when this error appears and when I press the "ok" button the same menu (F5) pops up...model appearance and engine sound. After selecting the QS and its sound it starts again whith the first error...so there is no end clicking on "ok" and selecting the QS....

Hi,
Very strange ... Please, try verifying following points :
1. Installation location should be following :
C:\Program Files\REFLEX\Flugzeug\Fliton
with following files
Axi.wav
Axi_.wav
QuietStorm.mod
QuietStorm.par
2. Verify also that these files are not read only or hidden
3. Verfiy that is not other copy of these files in the REFLEX directories
I'm running the XTR version 5.02.2 without any issue.
Hope this help
Laurent
