I've been building planes from scratch for a while now and racing nitro cars aswell. I have have a heep load of rc stuff lying about and want to give rc boats a go.

I've started building a hull but there are a couple of things I'm unsure about. I have had a look but there does not seem to be so much info available for boats as there is for planes.

How do you seal the wood (UK brand names would be great) and how and what is used to paint it and any tips? I'm also a bit unsure about how the stuffing boxes works so if anyone could breifly explain this.

Anyone with the time to explain this I thank you greatly.

Just for the record I am building an outrigger which will be eletric powered, don't quite know what power system yet as I have lot of bits to choose.
