Here is the start to my 4 rotor maching, I have so much fun with my 3 rotor designs I thought I would do the 4 rotor, next machine will be a CP machine with CP for inverted flight!

it is nice
could you let us have some of info about the parts?

It is built from carbon rods and ply for the body. For motors I use GWS 350C-B drive and GWS 10x4.5 props, 2S lithium pack, 3 PG03 gyros, 3 V-tail mixers, Berg RX, and that is about it!

I love the name! :D
In your opinion, what are the differences in flight characteristics between a three- and four-rotor?
I'm still hacking together a three-rotor, and I'm thinking it could be set-up and trimmed to fly like either a heli or a plane. I'm hoping it will be stable enough to use as a trainer. Your thoughts, please?
If you minimize the span (the distance between rotors), is there enough servo gain to compensate for the instability?
Congrats and kudos!
Following in your footsteps.

Thanks! I did not yet fly the 4-play :D but you would think it would fly better but we will see! If you make it smaller it should be fine, it will just be more responsive and not as stable, depends on how you like to fly. Once I get this one in the air I may try a smaller one.

Hey, FH! Has it flown yet? Some of us are waiting for a flight report. ;)
Question to you about mixers: Are you using run-of-the-mill $10-15 mixers or something more... exotic? I'm really surprised (and confused) at the variety of mixers available.
Thanks!

I'm still waiting on my props....should have been here long ago IMO! I just use cheap GWS mixers and PGO3 gyros!

OK, I want to do this.
I'm thinking my parts list is:
4 x ESC
4 x Motor/Gearbox
3 x V-tail mixer
3 x Gyro
Gyros go on channels 1,2,4 between the RX and the first mixer they touch. ESCs go after the mixers. Does this seem right? I would set up motors 1 and 2 to rotate the opposite direction as 3 and 4.

I would go outrunner now, just easier and stronger. I am STILL waiting for my stuff! Here is the info I used for mine...
