Space Case

Hi.

There's a new RC shop in town (first one, actually). I was just in there
looking to see what I could see, and right near the front door was a PC
running Realflight(?) G3. Now, I've been interested in helis for a long
time, and this looks like an opportunity to get my toe in the water...

Only problem is, I don't have a PC. What I do have is a Mac G4, dual 1.25Ghz
processors, 2GB memory, an ATI Radeon 9800Pro graphics card, and Virtual PC.

Has anyone tried running a sim under Virtual PC, and can say what kind
of performance I could expect?

Thanks,
~Steve

Sorry, none of the main simulators run on the Mac. They are just too
graphics intensive and Virtual PC just can handle it.

The only Mac sim I know of is a freeware :-

Eh, I have to reply via Google because my ISP didn't pick up your
reply. :(

Thanks for the pointer. I tried it, and it doesn't seem too realistic.
I
give it a bit of throttle, and it goes straight up, and I can stop it
from
rising and just sit there several feet off the ground. But I do find
that
it's really easy to get the thing so far away that I can't see it any
more.

I found that Realflight G3 has a demo, so I tried that under Virtual
PC/Win2K. Didn't even get started before it threw an exception. I
guess
it needs a direct connection to the video hardware...

Thanks again,
~Steve
