I'd like to try one out but I dont want to spend a whole lot on my first one. I was really impressed with the price of the FVK K2 model. I haven't found out who sells it in the USA. Per FVK's website, I translated the price to $409.00US, that's not a bad price at all for this ship, Im assuming another $100.00 to ship.
Can anyone comment on the K2? I'd really like to see some photos if you have any.
Is this plane hollow molded?

I have a Tragi702 carbon for sale. It has 6 brand new Voltz Micro Max servos all around and a JR 1800mah 6.0v rx pack. This plane is pristine with not a scratch. I've only flown it on the slope 5 or so times. Check out Gliderking.com or F3X.com for more info. $1100 and thats a steal! After equiping the FVK K2 with some nice servos and a battery you'll be almost that deep but you wouldn't have a Tragi!:D

I think Aeromodel is bringing in the K2 Lite. Dave had posted a link to the pics and the wing was not molded but it did look really nice. Might want to check with them quick before they leave for the SEFF.

Here's a thread on the K2 LMR (previously named K2 Light).

I'm assuming, since you posted in the Electric Sailplane section, that you are looking for the E-version of this plane. It's not posted on the website but http://www.Aero-Model.com carries it and I think he will be less than the plane & shipping costs you are looking at. Give Sean a call.
I bought mine from there and if I can get it in the air this weekend and reasonably trimmed out, I will also have mine at SEFF. Whether I fly it there or not remains to be seen.

The link to Aero-Model was incorrect. It is Aero-Model.com (http://www.aero-model.com)
Yes, Sean has K-2 lights and K-2 LMR's. These plane have three piece wings and separately attached V-tails so shipping is reasonable. Both fly excellent but I prefer the electric version as I like the higher wing loading on the airfoil.
Here's the page I did on my K-2 LMR

Well I saw the word "F3J" and about s#@t my pants. Are you Eheads realizing you don't need a motor to go faster? I guess being ignored means your not interested in the Tragi, huh.

Feraddas-
Before you go and spend your hard earned cash, I would warn you that K2's are HEA-VY! If I recall, these typically weigh in at about 80 ounces. I have a plane with these proportions, a MPX Milan, and it proved a big dissapointment for thermal soaring. Try and find something in the 65 ounce range, like an Airtronics Legend now produced by DCU (Dreamcatcher Hobbies I think?), or an NSP Edge Light. I have the Legend and it flies so well I felt buying anything else after it would be pointless.

Flyerman,
We'd ALL love to have the Tragi, but not nearly as many have that kind of scratch...

Per the FVK page for this plane, it's flying weight is 1700g or 60 oz. This is probably pretty close. My E-version is less that the 80 oz you cite.

You are thinking of the original K-2 built for F3J abuse.
Yes, they are in the 80's and were glider only airframes.
My K-2 Light is at 65 oz AUW as a glider and my K-2 LMR is 85 AUW carrying 10 cp-1700's
Aero-Model does not stock the old heavier version...just the new light ones.

Hi,
I don't like bringing up old threads but I need some info on the K2 glider.
I would be intersted to buy an F3J type glider and the K2 seems to be close to my buget.
I have located the glider on a german site(I'm from Romania so I am looking for something from Europe :) )for 390euros.My buget is 600E(no more than that).
Also can you guys tell me if I can get a moulded glider in my buget(at least full GFK fuz and wing).I know 600 isn't that much but at least I can look.
Thanks a lot.

You could get the Sharpwind for 600 euros. I have seen, and briefly flown it, and it is a very nice model.

Yeah, it looks like a much better choise.
But I think I am going to wait a little and get the carbon version cause I think it is worth the extra 75E for it.

DCU went out of business over a year ago.
The F3J I have is 83 oz, flies and thermals great. Maybe it's just the MPX design itself that sucks.
