Need motor advise

Just bought a Nippy Black 1812/100.I am flying a 25oz. SS.Can this motor be used with lipos.The instructions only recommend 8-12 cell nims.Also, will a 18 amp controller do the job?

You should be fine using 2 or 3 cell lipos, Kv on this motor is 1020, they recommend APC props from 8x4 to 11x5.5 so try the biggest recommended prop on 2 cells or 8x4 on 3 cells. I wouldn't recomend a bigger prop than a 9x6 on 3 cells ( sohuld pull 15 amps). Good luck.
