Wire Size..

Is there a " rule of thumb" when deciding on a wire size. When would I want to use 22 gauge and not 30 gauge or the other way around....Impact

First decide how many winds you are going to do. Then use the thickest wire you can to acheive that number of winds. The thicker the wire the better efficency, the number of winds will limit the max size you can use. Hope that helps
