15050 RPM @ 7.4V gives a KV of over 2000 RPM/V, not 1300. I would have thought a company the size of GWS could get these basic specifications correct. Also could GWS accurately measure and publish the motor resistance please? Without that we don't know if the unusually high Kv (for an outrunner) is caused by a low wind or poor magnets.

Neil,

We will have the motors and controllers in on Monday. We will be testing them and posting results on our website, just like we did for the hurricane motors. Results should be up by the end of the week. Then we will all know how they perform.

At the prices offered on the motors and controllers, I am sure there is a market for them and they may just blow away a lot of the competition.

Thank you Jeff,

I am not in my office now. I just finished HK show. Will be in the office next week. Neil, I will check on this. Thanks for letting me know.

I will also post 2 new photos --- for 2 bigger brushless motors.

Will also have a kit --- to program the ESC.

I have just purchased one at the AMA show in Ontario, CA. The motors are selling out at $15 each, one to a customer.
One question. Is the shaft reversable?
Thank You
Tony S.

Hi Tony,

No, not at his moment.

But good thinking.

We are working on this.

What we will have are 2 more motors to come and 25A, 35A ESC plus

a kit can be used to program ESC. ---- the one at the bottom -

( actually product may have a different case/housing.)

Please stay with GWS and give us a little bit more time.

When I have more info, will post here.

Thanks for acknowleging me. If GWS doesn't have the skills to measure a motor accurately I could do that for them.

2.75 V

That is too low, especially for the newer generation cells.

3v is what most consider to be safe and is the standard.

GWS BL ESC will cut off at 3.1V, but it’s not a 100% cut off, the ESC will cut to 50% power to notify the pilot he has reach the low voltage stage. ;)

I have completed (25) 10 minute flights in 85 - 90 degree F air temperatures on a 3 cell 450 Etec lipoly battery. 25% of each flight is WOT. After each flight the motor temp is checked with only a 5 to 10 degree rise above ambient.
Prop: 7035 GWS
Plane: GWS Pico Stick (modified for acro flight). Weight 7.5 oz (no battery). Vertical performance, 100' diameter loops, tight snap rolls.

My first flight was on the recommended 2 cell battery. I brought the plane back in after 15 seconds due to the sluggish performance. Changed to 3 cells and the plane came "alive" ....... exciting performance.

The motor design provides excellent cooling even in our hot desert conditions. with no heating problems.

Awesome performance from a $15 motor !
