Hello, I'm new to rc boating and would like to know if the blade runner from kyosho is a good choice. My priorites are speed, and easy to maintain. Please let me know what you think about the blade runner. Also if you have any other suggestions please let me know. Thank you.

The box art boats like the bladerunner are going to leave you a bit disapointed if you are looking for anything that looks like speed and performance. The BL especially is a dog. Look here:

http://www.rumrunnerracing.com/feforums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=493&highlight=bladerunner

You may wanna have a look at the Danvo Avenger. See these two links:

http://www.danvo.com/boats/avenger.htm

http://drcwebservices.com/ffe/boats.htm

Or look at the ABC Super Hawaii at:

http://www.ehobbies.com/more-abc-r-c-boats.html

http://www.abc-rc-hobby.com/abc55001.htm

For a comparison of the Super Hawaii and the Bladerunner see here:

The Super hawaii is a great boat. Nice spped stock and can be upgraded quite easily to a very fast mover.

Good luck!

The bladerunner is not an option if speed is important

for the smae money you could get a 6 cell mono race baot which willrun near 30mph! vs 11 of the bladerunner

eg see the 628 on the hulls page at fastelectrics.com

Its the super Hawaii and the danvo avenger? Are there any other boats that are very fast, can take waves well, and don't cost too much?

fast and 'not cost too much' are mutually exclusive terms when applied to boats.

You may also wanna look at the ABC Baltek if you want cheap and reasonable speed.

The bladerunner is a slow dog, even if the box looks pretty.

Andrew is a good guy to buy from and is very experienced in the Fast Electric world. He can hook you up.

Dustin sounds like you want big

Big means big torque and big cell counts

Small boats run very fast if setup correctly and are good handling and reliable - like I said the Lightning 628 mono is 3 times as fast as a Bladerunner on just 6 cells and far more stable in smooth or rough water
