Does anybody know of any decent (free) website/s where I could find plans (3 views) for rc planes. I'm interested in creating my own pylon racer but would like to base it on an acceptable design. I will be re-creating it in a 3d software package for general assessment and to determine overall look. Thanks in advance and Happy New Year to all!

If you are after some scale 3 views try this Russian web site. Its a little difficult to navigate, but it is worth it;
http://mkmagazin.almanacwhf.ru/avia/index.htm
There are a lot of free model aircraft plans on the Profili software site;

Three-view - some with formers (http://horac.fw.hu/)
Three-views (http://members.fortunecity.com/inedesca/)
Three-views - most with formers (http://www.airwar.ru/other/drawe.html)
Three-views - a lot!!! (http://blueprints.onnovanbraam.com/) Plans -views and formers (http://www.seawings.co.uk/planspage.htm)
Luft '46 three-views (http://www.luft46.com/)
Three views only (http://membres.lycos.fr/wings2/3vues/3vues.html)
Mostly three-views. I've spotted a plan with formers too. (http://hawker.smugmug.com/Hobbies/15578)
Unfortunately I haven't got more sources. Searching google "pictures" is very useful. That's the way I found these sources.
If someone could help me with an Aero Commander 500/ 600/ 680 three-view I am very happy (decent quality, thin lines).
Happy searchin',
Dave :D

If you wander over to the CAD forum at RCU, they have a very large list of firms offering plans over the internet. Many-many are repeats, stolen from some other site. I have one plan listed at two sites, and a third Polish site went and converted all the text into their native language.
However for a competition A/C as you mentioned, there is one site based in Germany with Corsair someplace in the title which has a K-boodle of them. F2A, F3A, F3D, etc. Big problem here is that the Europeans like to post plans in GIF, TIF and a few other graphic formats. My plotter and viewing software will undersatnd and handle such. You really need to adjust things, for the graphic softwares are not always accurate as to X-Y scaling, certainly not between sheets. After you get your favorite plotted out, then, you can go into CAD representations.
Been there, done that, and it ain't fast either.
