Attention all you slope-users
There is no better way to bring in the New Year then flying RC on the slope.
The winds will be great after 1pm. Todd and myself will lead the charge. I'm planning to take a group photo of all the participants. Todd will be maidening his new Moth48. That will be a treat.
Weather tomorrow will be a toasty 65 degrees F. Winds 13 mph.
So, be there or be square. Charge your batteries right now.

Tram,
1 pm. I usually meet first timers usually meet at the corner of Pulaski Pike and Winchester Rd. Do let me know if you want me to wait for you there. I'll have my cell phone, and I'll give the number out via email or PM.
Looks like we have 5 guys going so far.

What a blast we had today sloping! I came late but there was still enough time to slope. After I had a chance to slope for about 30 minutes, it was time for some combat. Larry, Dave, Todd and myself combated until dark.
Dave, thank you again for calling me (I really needed a flying fix today) and please e-mail me the group picture.

Ken,
It was a great time today. We had amazing wind for the bowl. I think it was the smoothest we've seen in there. Lets see, before you got there, we had three maiden flights. Todd maidened his Moth48, Larry maidened his slope Zipper48 and Jim Howell maidened his Bee48.
One exciting impact of the day was the collision between Randy Moores MOG and Todds Moth. They locked horns and circled to the ledge below all the while clutched in a death grasp. Both pilots eyes were a little bit buggy and all of us were busting a gut. Both planes were retieved without any damage.
Maybe 15 minutes out of 3 hours the lift sort of vanished. Then it returned with force.
Thanks guys for making it a fun New Years Day.
Dave
PS, Combating at the end of the day was the greatest. We had a furball of 4 planes swooping and bumping. No damage, but lots of fun for all. So much fun that we flew till dusk.

What a blast! I can't wait to get my new Mustang done, with lift like that it will be a whole lot of fun to fly. I'm thinking it will be made P-51B style, I'll post some pictures when I get it going.
Here are some more pictures of our New Years flying session. Dave and our guest photographer his daughter (sorry I can't remember her name!). The next couple are of Dave with his JW and Todd with his Moth 48. The last is Ken with his Zagi 5T and Todd with his Moth 48, note the streamer on Todds antenna. There was a TON of lift toward the end of the flying session.

It took me a while looking at the photos, but I finally saw where the streamer is pointing straight up! :)
