Since yesterday I have studied a few pages from your very well done web site and uav project

Definitly will consider this solution as the best I have seen to date that looks affordable for the average joe like me to put into my 7 year old 3 metre discus scale glider

When I have fully read and understood all whats on your site I hope to return to ask a few questions

My own requirment is more for a return to base system and terrain avoidance in dynamic and slope soaring
but this thermalling ability is interesting and a lot harder to do than normal uav

excellent
keep up the good work

must be hard to find thermals in the 24 hour darkness of winters in sweden :D

ahh forgot you got rudolf with red nose

happy new year

This is great stuff and something that I am also interesed in. In fact I am trying to get an abstract dealing with the subject together by the end of the month. Good luck with your continued research.

Hello guys !

Glad you liked it.
Please tell more about your own project !
Maybee you have it on the web ?

How can the GPS be used to search an area fo thermals,
in a systematic way?
Start with switching to automatic when flying towards the wind.
Go straight 200 meters
then turn right............

By the way, here in Sweden we have daylight for flying
from 3 am to 9 pm in the middle of summer !
However I newer start before 9 am...

I'll be glad to make my strategies public after they are little more mature. I plan to give it a go in flight test also. Hopefully this summer.

I an doing a corispondece course in computers and come from low level electronic teck background
Building Flying and crashing consume most of the rest of the time
No I am at the early stage just checking out the situation to see whats available in the low $100 price ranges to just bring the glider home in a radio failure
or site fogged in senario etc

Preferably later would allow abilty to avoid terrain in dynamic soaring when my thumbs gets crossed

Basically real life practical uses after I got fed up watching plane fly by itself
