View Full Version : Discussion Night Flying on a Simulator?

I will install G3 on my laptop when it gets here, and currently have a copy
of AeroFly Pro on my home machine.

Does anyone have a good way to practice night flying on either one of
these platforms?

I tried it at the field briefly recently and it was quite an experience for me.
Before I try it again at the field, was just wondering if there is a
semi-realistic way to do it on the sim?
Basically it would involve a dark screen and some aircraft lighting.

Turn down the monitor brightness? :) I know Relflex was talking about getting some evening panormas but AFAIK there's nothing for G3 like that. Of course in X-Plane you can do this easily.

Although the monitor brightness addresses one issue, there is still the acclamation to the coloration and placement of the lights, which will take
me some time to get used to_bob

Tho I have never messed with them... http://www.rc-sim.de/

Could you create an almost black flying field with an almost all black plane? Use bright colors for the wingtips etc to simulate lights. I haven't messed with creating flying fields or models but even if the current ones are editable, it might be possible.

That'd be easy to do in FMS.

sno,

Can't seem to get in there?

Am I doing something wrong?

Where exactly on the site did you see what you are referring to?

G3 does have photographic panoramas.

There are no NIGHT panoramas for G3 that I am aware of.

rutat --> You are correct. May not be up until tomorrow.
I'll be going out of state tomorrow and wanted to practice today.

Anyone out there have any night scenery or craft they can send me?

Thanks_bob
