Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the new Trex 450XL helicopter file without downloading the latest version of Clearview.. I am on dialup and upgrading to the latest version would take too long. I have looked on the homesite but can't seem to find it.

Also what is involved in upgrading from 4.16 to 4.20 when it comes to the activation code and other models that have been loaded from other sites. Does upgrading just replace certain files or the whole program? Does use of FMS models require any kind of conversion before they can be used?

Thanks.

Dave

I'm sure Stefan can fulfill your request although you will likely need to update to the new release. From what I understand many other supporting files have also been updated.

As far as upgrading, I believe you need un-install and re-install the program using the same activation code to upgrade? I also have not gotten an answer to the 'update' question as well.

PS version 422 is the first release with the TRex-450XL model which can be downloaded from this thread:

Make sure to load the OpenAL sound driver BEFORE you install ClearView.

I will post the Trex on my website in a few minutes...Stefan has ok'd me to do that so others can download without updating, But to enjoy the better lighting features you will need to update the software. all you need to do is simply download the update and reinstall...it will overwrite existing files and update itself. Give me about 10 minutes and you can download it here

Ken;

Thanks very much for the excellent service. I know we wouldn't be able to get this type of service on a commercial package.

I tried downloading the Trex file but the Net is so slow that the download wouldn't complete with the complete file so I will try later.

Thanks again,

Dave

Installing new ClearView version keeps the program activated. Here is what I think is the best way to upgrade to new version:

1. Allways keep the additional models expanded in a separate directory, let say "c:\MyCVModels\models". You can keep all zip files in c:\MyCVModels and
expand them under "c:\MyCVModels\models".

2. Before upgrade, plese delete c:\Program Files\SVKSystems\ClearView

3. Install the new version.

4. Drag models from "c:\MyCVModels\models" and drop it into c:\Program Files\SVKSystems\ClearView

Restart ClearView. The activation will not be lost.

I make sure that new versions are backwards compatible with all existing models.

FMS models can be imported in ClearView. Most will require some additional work with ac3d from ac3d.org Please e-mail me for details and I can help with conversion.
