Mickey, if you want people to reply to you, why make them work so hard? I wanted to give you some blades for free, don't make me beg :=)
This is what I got when I tried to reply to the email request you sent me.
Ari.
I apologize for this automatic reply to your email.
To control spam, I now allow incoming messages only from senders I
have approved beforehand.
If you would like to be added to my list of approved senders, please
fill out the short request form (see link below). Once I approve you,
I will receive your original message in my inbox. You do not need to
resend your message. I apologize for this one-time inconvenience.

Sorry for the challenge.
I am in the software business and have thousands of customer proprietary source files on my computer
and thus I cannot afford viruses, spyware, or anything of the like.
I only visit reputable internet sites, and then with the protection turned
way up.
I get tons of junk email every day that I have to stop at the mail server
before it gets to my computer. I can't afford to read all of it so I have a "white list" spam filter.
All you have to do is follow the link and then I will get an email from
you indicating that you are a real person, not an automated mailer, and
I go add you to the address book. I can't add you ahead of time because
I don't know your email address. But I saw your email, added you to the address book and have responded.
This only happens once and then all the email goes through.
Your offer is very kind, I hope it's still valid.

Mickey, the offer is still valid. I'll send you the blades you asked for as soon as I get back from my vacation on the 1st.
I'm in the software business, too. I worked for Sun up until a couple of weeks ago, and next week, I'm starting a new job with BitTorrent. I think the challenge filter is one of the worst solutions for spam. Maybe I'm atypically impatient, but if I considered buying something from a vendor, and my request for information was met with this nonesense, the vendor would never hear from me again. Funny thing is, he wouldn't even know he lost my business - he'd think he thwarted a spammer.
I post real email addresses on both my autogyro and my personal sites. I use my real address when I post on Usenet. I've been using SpamAssasin with very good results and very few false neagtivs. I've had no false positives in a couple of years now. Let me know offline if you want more information about my setup.
Ari.

I do want to know more about spamassasin.
Did you get my regular email?
I do real time software, am fairly clueless about stuff like spamassasin.
Irritating another impatient software guy occaisonally is a reasonble price to pay for not losing a lot of client files :D

I put your blades in the mail today, you should have them tomorrow or the day after. Let me know how you find them, and let us all know what you build with them. I'm sure it will be something spectacular if it's coming from you!
I moved the SpamAssassin part of this discussion to the "life, politics & everything" forum - it's really offtopic here. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=460566
HTH.
