I would like to know what frequency band is used for rc flying in Thailand.
Is it the 72 Mhz band?

I was looking for an RC shop which was on Sukumvit around soi 8 - 10 which I found a couple of years ago. Does anyone know if it is closed or I was remembering the wrong Soi? or can you tell me of any other RC shops, thanks
A couple of weeks ago I couldn't find it :(
RE: Kricke40,
35 or 40Mhz for my friends RC car but I don't know if thats a different range for flying or not

Kricke 40,
40Mhz and 72Mhz are the more popular bands used in most flying club in Thailand.
Torqued up,
There are quite a number of flying fields around the outskirt of Bangkok. Here are some that I know:
1. Bangpoon Flying Club - North of Bangkok, short runway (<200meter), cross wind all the time but famous for its heli instructor. Check out http://fly.to/bangpoon/
2. See-Samarn Flying Field - Also north of Bangkok next to See-Samarn Toll way exit. Not much of facilities but it has reasonably good runway. It was organized by members of the oldest RC Flying Field in Thailand, Tung See Gun.
3. Sanam Luang 2 - I have not been there but you can check out http://www.mkkhobby.com/mcontents/marticle.php?headtitle=mcontents&id=103241
feel free to click around. It's a totally different language anyway :)
4. N.Sawadee Flying Club - South East of Bangkok. This is one of the best with full facilities, 400M runway, Heli flying area, and a pond.
5. Top Tames - East of Bangkok on the outer ring expressway. Although I have not been there yet but I think it's a great field too.
BTW, the above list are for Glow Engine planes and heli. They wouldn't mind if you are into electric.
Shops:
There are planty of shops now more than ever before but if you're looking for branded product like Great Planes, Du Bro accessories, it will be a bit difficult to find. Here are a few:
1. Hobby Thai - Full of accessories for electric. It's a one stop shop
2. Siam Interhobby - If you are looking for glow ARFs
3. Bangkok Hobby
4. Futaba - All kinds of branded products and OS spare parts
5. Amorn Co., Ltd. - The oldest hobby house around but not much stuff now.
6. Mao Hobby - If you are into RC Racing, this is the shop for you
7. PST Jet - Thailand's only model jet engine manufacturer. You can get Skymaster kits from PST too. Also, you can meet Mike (the guy who built the Vindicator and won 5th prize in last year Top-Gun) for a chat. He can give you more info on the RC Scence here.
Hope this helps,
AJ

Hi there,
I've been to Bangkok for several times and I'm always bummed to be back home. There's so many (toy) RC parts you can buy over there. I was woindering is there anyone that sells for instance small Mabuchi like motors and other parts online?
I found Carmoworld online but the prices are way higher and they only ship via UPS, FedEx, etc....which means very high prices.

If you are looking for nitro models and some ARF electric models then check out Bangkok's leading distributer, manufacture, wholesale, and OEM for ARF Remote Control RC Planes - http://www.hobbyhut.org or e-mail greg@hobbyhut.org - or call thailand 0861650025
These models are manufactured in china and are the best quality models ive seen at very reasonable prices

Earlier in the thread it was mentioned that 40 and 72 mHz was the most "popular" frequency's to use. Can I bring my 35mHz transmitter or?
I'm on my way to Khao Lak in November and was about to bring a small parkflyer.
While at it, is there any hobby shops around that area if I would need spare parts?
Thanks in advance!

Has anything new happened in RC flying around the Phuket area? I'm on my way this year as well. As it's forbidden to bring lipo's on the airplanes these days it would have been nice with a store in Phuket. Are thre any such a stores in there?
