I need to form a boom for the Majestic. My idea is to use a pool cue
for a mandrel. I would wrap the cue in saran wrap or mylar and then use
carbon fiber sleeves with epoxy over the cue. Would it work to hang the
cue from one end and secure the sleeve on one end and heavily wgt. the
other end of the sleeve to draw it tight on the boom? I saw this
technique used to form cf tubes for free flight model spars and le/te.
using music wire as the mandrel. Has this been done for R/C sailplane
booms? How many layers and what wgt cf would be adequate?
