Many, if not most non-Israelis know of our country only what they see in the news. And then only the negative parts. Let's face it, "Jews are News".
So, how about posting here non-flying pictures, showing our beautiful country?
I'm sure we all have loads of pictures from trips around the country with friends & family. Share them here.

We spend a couple of days with my department (from work) at Ein Gedi, a kibbutz next to the Dead Sea. The kibbutz itself has lots of flowers, trees and cactusses, and runs a health spa on the shores of the Dead Sea, with the obiquous Dead Sea mud, and sulfur baths.

Just north of Ein Gedi is a nature reserve called David's Springs. After a 30-45 minutes walk you'lll se the, ...well... springs... Well worth the visit.

I think it was around Christmas of 2004 when I saw a breathtaking film on TV of Israel from the air.
An hour long, it was on satellite - probably National Geographic with their usual extremely high standard of photography.
I came into it after the start and never found out what it was called. Amazing, beautiful and surprisingly uplifting among other things.
It's not been repeated as far as I know, but I'd like to see it again if anyone can possibly identify it?

Sad but very spectacular.
We just don't have places here with no vegetation. It's strange and a bit alien to see such sights.
May be good for sloping, but landings? I think not.

Why sad?

Don't forget you're on the shores of the Dead Sea here (that's that body of water in some of the pics), so you're in the middle of the desert. When I was still a tourist to Israel we used to call it the "moon landscape".
May be good for sloping, but landings? I think not.
Believe it or not, there are some realy flyable slopes around there, but -as you said- for foamies only, or you must be very proficiant in hand-catching...

Why sad? - The history of the place - the site of mass suicide for whatever reason has to be a place of some sadness and regret. I realise that it was more of a beginning than an end but still sad.

We're being told to "get over" 6 million deaths of 60 years ago. Masada was a couple of 100 people a couple of milleniae ago.
Visiting the site with a knowledgeable guide is an awesome and humbling experience though.

View from the cliff at Arsuf. About 10 Km south of Netanya. The buildings in the distance are from Netanya.
I just had a closer look. The building at the far far right is the building I live in!
