I'm setting up an rc boat and am wondering if I can run my 2 channel AM Futaba RX (RI22JE) off my main 7 cell (8.4v) battery. I do not have an esc and do not want to use that little 4 AA battery holder then include. So do I risk causing any damage to it by running 8.4v through it? BTW I will be using 2 S3003 standard size servos with it.

Hi
I'm moving this to the Boats section of the RC Groups where you should find posters more experienced in this type of set-up.
My feeling would be that you would certainly damage your receiver by running 8.4 volts through it, as these are designed for 4.8v, though some (?most) can be used with a 6 volt system.
