Hi all,

I am new at this, never flown anything but a Bladerunner.

I just bought a Honey Bee CP2 and a sim cable for the TX. I want to master flying a heli in FMS before I try out the real thing. Apparently if you learn how ot fly in the sim it will help alot when you really fly one.

So with that said,

My question is about FMS.. Do you just pick one of the helicopter models that are included in the app or do you specify a HB CP2 (or similar) somehow. Are all of them practically the same so if you learn any one of them you should be ready to go?

I noticed FMS has an acrobatic model in it. Is that the one to use?

Thanks for any help.

Tavis,

FMS will help in some way, but is is a basic simulator and without spending hours tweeking the model parameters, most of the models don't mimic what happens in real life as the flight physics in FMS is very basic. It will allow you to get familiar with the stick controls, but when you come to fly your CP Honey Bee it will feel totally different.

Try downloading the Clearview simulator which gives you a "try before you buy" option and has better flight physics so the models fly more lifelike

However there is no real substitute to actually flying your heli for real. If you've never flown one before, then fix a couple of ping-pong balls to either end of a 50cm length of 2 or 3mm carbon rod, tie them in the middle to form a cross and then secure them diagonally across the skids so that the heli can't tip over. Then book a small hall for a few hours and prcatice. Having the space of the hall will allow you to concentrate on flying the heli and not having to watch out for obsticals like the TV, etc
