I think the cheapest option is to buy a 2-channel car TX/RX set. You get a transmitter, receiver, 2 servos and a pair of crystals with no effort, legally. ;)

I built one years ago. (1967 or so)
They are dead simple.
You should search for old magazines in the 70's era..plenty of designs in them.
Getting up to 5W out of a 27mhz set is very easy ...from memory mine pulled 4.5W, and the transistor got hot to the tune of about 0.8W, so I reckon I had 3.5W going up the aerial.
This allowed me to fly anyones plane on the field, and achieve out of sight range.
It was also totally illegal.

Ahh now I know why I had interferences in the late sixties ;)

Hey, as you can see I am new but very interested. With my cheap plain I got a 2 channel 27Mhz radio. It has a range of 200FT, but more is better.
After I have read this topic, I did not understood how to achieve this :$ . So, how does it work?

Mmm. IF it has a separate power stage, all you need there is to put a fatter tranistors in and probably reduce an emitter resistor..if it doesn't, you probably want to use something like a CB booster type ciurcuit..and drive that with the existing transmitter.

Thanks Dave
I am having a go at it .I hope it will have a good range but more important is
that it must work. Hope there is no mistake in the given circuit.
