A colleague of mine is a real electronics and software genius. He can make AVR devices dance!!!! He has asked me for some background on motor design and brushless control. Can anyone sugggest any suitable links for me. I am confident when he has all the information he needs he can come up with a very impressive design.
cheers

It would be very interesting if one could reprogram one of the cheap BL ESC's out there... AFAIK some of them actually do use AVR devices as the main controller... :)

AFAIK :) the cheap BL ESC's work good - no reason to reprogram. It's not a real problem to figure out the schematic, the problem is to have a better software. I also have a cheap one, half a year ago I snapped it for 30 EUR, a real bargain at that time. I must admit, that I see no reason to adapt and load my own software.
There should be an advantage ;)
To buy a cheap one for reprogramming is more expencive than to build your own for programming.
I pay in sum about 15 EUR for one of my BL ESC :D
