WOOOT! Anyone seen the new Savage parts on hpiracing.com?? HPI have
released a wheelie bar set, steel spur and pinions, 17mm hubs, uni's, wheels
and tires!!
I was stoked when I saw them last night, checked ebay and have a wheelie bar
set on the way to me :) (only problem is I simply cannot wait!)
Doc, if your still keen to get a steel spur, check these out, they look
PUUUUURTTY!!! (read sweet as!)
Now, to go write and send an email to HPI telling how much I love em :)
Cheers Dre

Yeppers!...
Got the hub adapters..they work well...(full offset Ofna Dish with
Bowties)..even after snapping an a-arm yesterday and a c-hub today! =)
Personally not looking to use a wheelie bar, as mine stays offroad all the
time.
Already have the Robinson steel spur and bell.
But, what I really want now is.... Titanium drive and output cups!
Would however like to try some of the Nubz wheels/tires..and even a set of
Hellfire wheels/tires.
Also would like to see some MT 17mm rims with a .5" offset instead of full
offset (similar to the old TRC and Team Orion/Fresh Kicks rims - which I ran
before going 17mm)

I have to ask about the nugs wheels/tires though, what are they designed
for?? racing mainly? they are smaller than the normal type tires...
Mines off-road 99% of the time as well, but it spends an aweful lot of time
on hard packed gravel and grass so a wheelie bar is perfect. Plus looking
from the pics it doesn't look like it will take much of the rear clearance
away..
I've actually somehow managed to rip a small slit in the sidewall of my
drivers side front tire, sucks as I dont think its going to stay small for
very long :( Why couldn't it have been a rear as they are alllready hell
worn, the fronts are (were) fine...
Mmmm, titanium output cups :)
Cheers Dre

I guess the Nubz were designed for racing... I would just like to try them,
I am sure they would make it a bit more nimble and rev up faster... I know a
regular buggy wheel is insane on the Savage!... Revs extremely fast, turns
real quick, and almost wheelies at idle! =)
A wheelie bar wouldn't last me about 5 mins...'cause I'm hitting the jumps
everytime I play..and I don't land perfect everytime (imagine that).... =)
Try a little tire glue in the cut/slit.. Rubberized (black) tire glue would
probably do best...

Yeah thats what I was thinking. They would make the truck fly better I
would imagine, less tire mass. I also have an Inferno so know what you mean
about the revving up quicker and turning in etc.. Plus they fly soooo well
:)
Hehehe, fair enough too re the wheelie bar. Have you looked at the pics?
Its mounted quite close to the rear bumber. I guess though if you landed
right on it from a fair height (and with speed) you might smash it. I'll
take some snaps of it when I get mine and I'll let you all know how strong
it is...
You think it would hold? I thought about trying to glue it, but then
thought nothing would hold out when the tire balloons under massive revs.
But you've inspired me to try it now :) Hell, what have I got to lose?
Dammit, its an absolute pearler outside atm and I'm stuck at work, plus all
my AA's were flat on the w/e so now I'm HELL KEEN to get outside and take
the T.D. (long story, when one of my friends first saw my Savage it had the
body off, the first thing that came out of her mouth was "oh my god, it
looks like some sort of Terminator Dog!) for a rass!

yep I sure did, I knew there was something I forgot, the coloured chassis
plates (not my cup of tea though). Are those the ones your talking about?
I didn't know they actually lowered bits of the truck though, now I'm
interested :)

They're bringing out LCG TVPs as well! Adonised black, they come with an
engine plate as well that fits them. Very nice.

These are different to the ones I saw (the ones with the flames on them).
Keen to check them out and am hoping that they lower the fuel tank more than
anything else!
Pity they are black anodized, I really like the silver aluminium colour...
