Has anyone thought about the impact that the new European led GPS
system 'Galileo' will have on future UAV designs?
The system will guarantee sub-metre accuracy. That means you'll be
able to use it not only for navigation and positioning, but also for
altitude hold too amongst other things.
Obviously Europe is getting the sweet stuff first, followed by the
rest of the world over the next 5 years.
It may even be possible to use it for controlled landings when combined
with an accurate topo map.
