I'm trying my hand at the business world. I've got some research done and drawings made, but i do need a little information. What size is the little stick shaft that comes out of the radio transmitter. Thie first person to answer all sizes first will recieve the first set of pantened knobs for thier transmitter free. See the enclosed picture. I do have a lot of these made and I am beginning to tapp the shaft holes in place. I will have these in anodized finished. Very complex machines are used to make the recess top and tapped holes, so i need to purchase correct tapps. I will be going out of the states for next week and hope to open website when returned. They are being made out of extruded aluminum and are very comfortable to use. Not like those razor shape edges on the transmitters now. I not out to make a killing on them I just do this for fun. I figure $20 shipped to your house. Some people pay $14 to $20 for a tail wheel bracket so why not bling out your radio.

If you want a set for Futaba Email me at shawn@rcstxy.com

I need to know shaft sizes for:

Jr.
Airtronics
Tower
What else??

I'm afraid that I can offer some assistance, but not all that you need. I only fly Futaba, thus that is the only measurement I could get. 7/64''. Now that only goes to a point where it will not slip over the shaft. So it does not include exact diameter with thread diameter. Does this help? It does appear to be a great product. I have been getting tired of try to develope a calasce when I only fly every once in a while.

I'd rather have plastic than aluminum, for the simple reason of you'll still freeze your fingers after awhile out in the cold with your new design. I thought about doing something similar with my Futaba 9C, only using the sticky rubber joystick tops off a Playstation 2 controller instead.

Not really, the gimbels are small enough and alluminum is a good conductor of heat. I flew with some last year in cold weather and they helped more because your thumbs don't slip off of them. A nice recessed pocket. I tried plastic as well. They stripp the threads after a couple of flights. And they were more costly to make.

Futaba and airtronics are the same, JR and hitec are 4mm, however measured at the threads JRs are 3.8mm and hitec 2.9mm, also hitec sells an extension that they say fits most other radio's but as you can see they wont fit JR, also according to Tower, the Futaba or Airtronics stick ends will fit the Tower Radio's

Hope this helps.

I have used a couple different ones I've made for my JR radio and found that, for heli flying anyway, the recessed ones didn't work very well. Your's look very well made but a sharp grip worked alot better. You should make a version with protuding spike for us heli guys. :)

I had people fly them with helicopters and everyone loved them. The grips give you thumb rash and these are...well just comfortable to fly with.
try em you'll love em....

It's easier to reduce a price when it's too high than to raise it when it's too low.

Very cool, thanks for sending mine, I took them to a race with me saturday, then forgot to try them, did manage to get in 1 flight yesterday with them, very cool, totally different feel, will be using them over the next month, need to get used to them first, after flying with thin ones for so many years I thought it would feel real weird, but it acually felt like I had better control, but its really not fair to compare until I get used to them and switch back and forth a few times, very nicely made shawn. Thanks Again.

It is not clear on your website if the $20 is for one or two knobs . . similar products: Madison (http://www.qualityrcproducts.com/prod_transmitterknobs.html) - The Knob (http://www.zebra.net/~rascal1/)
