Anyone have a review of the Blade (e-flite?) RC helicopter? Looks like it
comes with everything (except AA x-mitter bats) for around $220. Anyone
have one that can comment?

Thanks,

Win

I have been flying a Blade for about a month now. I have absolutely no
regrets other than my own skills. I have found that helis are much harder to
fly than planes. But I have not flown my planes since I got it cause it is
kind of addicting. I can fly it in my yard. It is very durable. Make sure
you get the training gear and a spare set of blades or two. I researched
the web for a month before I settled on the Blade. If you want something
easier to fly and 30 bucks cheaper, the Blade CX is coming out in Dec I
think. It has 2 main rotors and no tail. It will do everything except the 3d
type flying. I started on a simulator before I bought the blade. I had an
old Futaba 4 channel trans, got a USB cable from milehighwings.com, and
downloaded FMS(free). Helped me loads. Be ready for frustration and loads
of fun.

Thanks for the feedback.

Did you get any extra batteries or a fast charger? Doesn't seem to
practical to
fly 15 min and wait 2 hours to recharge. What do you recommend?

Thanks,

Win

I can't say enough good things about my Blade. It is the best buy out there
for the money and there will be a Bell and Hiller update coming out in
December it looks like. That should make it fly even better. Don't get me
wrong, it can be a bit twitchy and finicky to set up right but if you take
the time to trim it right it flies nicely for a small bird. There are better
electrics out there but you will invest a lot of money to get them in the
air. I would certainly get at least one extra battery and a good peak
charger if you don't already have one. Also pick up a set of blades and the
training gear as already stated because they will save you a bunch of money
in the long run. Other than that just enjoy!
