Sim cable adapter [Archive]

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to get an adapter to change the GWS Pic/serial? (9 pin female) cable to a USB or parrallel port.

Most computer accessory stores will stock an adptor, but as to it working with a PIC serial interface, sorry can't help !

Hi Malc, thanks for the response. I'll have a look today to see if I can find one but unfortunately I'm not so sure the one I'm looking for exsists.

I haven't tried GWS serial cable with a USB-to-Serial adapter, but another serial PIC cable I tried didn't work well with $16 USB-to-Serial adapter from RadioShack. The adapter introduced the signal jitter, which was not there, when the serial interface was connected directly to a COM port. I'm not sure what was the culprit--my serial PIC cable of the cheesy USB-to-COM adapter...

Just a word of caution.
