Is there someone that tried to solder battery pack out of this tool ?
Does it work ?
And if so , how good is it ?

Thanks . Johnny

There have been a number of previous discussions on this. Do a search on "cold heat solder radio shack".
I haven't read all of these, but the one I read had mixed reports. Most didn't like it but a few thought it was great.

I consider it a total piece of junk. Don't waste your money like I did.

I'm with TM. It's crap. Mine even came with a "free" wire stripper. Broke the first time I tried it (on 20 awg wire)>

I have one what a piece of crap, I will gige you one for ffree if you pay shipping.
On second thought I think i through it away.
It relies on direct short circuit to heat the conductive item beeing soldered.
A direct short on 2 AA batteries is good for about maybee 30 seconds of soldering.

I thank you all for saving me $35.00 and like I said , probebly the the best thing to go for batterie pack is the spring box from radio shack .
