Hello,

i want to invite you to the new german UAV Website
http://www.uav-autopilots.de .
This project is completely independant from government
budgets.
The Website displays a complete system including
X-SIGHT UAV airframe, autopilot and groundstation.
Main purposes of this system is to offer services in
different disciplines.

Very interesting Stephan, I produce Fiber Otptic servo extensions for UAV's if I can help, and also look at the EVO engines for your operation.

Good luck

That looks like a Zenoah G-26 on there, but its hard to tell. The Zenoah is a much better choice of engine over the EVO because it is much more reliable and durable. The Zenoah also has its own magneto, you start it and forget aboutit, and it will run all day. With the EVO you have an extra battery to charge and then you are limited to a couple hours of run time before it runs out, also with the EVO an extra ignition box that is very prone to produce RF noise... All this adds more complexity while reducing capability of the UAV  Sometimes simple is better :D

You are obviously reffering to the EVOlution which is not the same as the EVO that I'm reffering to. Zenoah!!! no contest,

Roger

Hello,

yes, it's a Zenoah ZG26 with a magnetic ignition.
Maybe the Evo is the better choice, i don't know, but
for reliability reasons, i trust on the Zenoah.
Anyway, every engine is mountable which supports
max.17 inch props.
Further i am searching for a reliable 40cm³ engine to increase payload capacity.
Perhaps someone knows a good one in this class. It needs not to have superior power performance, reliability like
start and forget is more important.

Thank you

I have looked at allot of different remote ignition techniques. I am not familiar with magnetic ignition. Could someone fill me in?

How much power is the TX ?
What frequency is it on ?

Thanks, Terry

Hello Terry,

Uplink: 433MHz, 4W RF Power Video: 2.4GHz, 3.6 RF Power
Downlink: see Video (modulated on audio carrier).
Antennas airborne: lambda/4 dipols
Antennas on ground: currently lambda/4 dipols.
In a next project i will design a GPS controlled narrow beam tracking antenna for the groundstation.

I think he probably meant "magneto" ignition.....
