Just thought I'd share a little bit about my conversion of the 40 size ThunderTiger Giles-202 ARF.

I have an Astro 40 geared with a Superbox and plan on a 6S lipo pack but may need to go to 8S to get the watts up. I am spinning an APC 13.5 X 13.5 Pattern prop. we are discussing this power set up in the motor thread..

I flew this as a glow model a few years ago and lost radio contact on the maiden. Thus the new wing:)

I am alot farther along on it than the picture shows having mounter the motor and almost finished the wing...more picture to follow ;)

It had an RVC 60 in it and had more than enough power I just didn't like the slime everywhere.

I'll document my progress here as I'll have alot of question and hopefully be able to offer some useful observations..

Bruce :)

Well after a few months/projects behind me I finally got around to finishing up the Giles Conversion. I am still waiting to buy the Lipos as I want to do with out paralleling the packs.

gbruce, the super box seems like a big reduction.Just my opinion.Make sure you prop the motor for "35amp" static draw. These motors are die hard.Plane looks good.Good luck with the remaiden ;)
