Hi,,,I know absolutely nothing about subs as I fly planes. Anyway, a cousin of mine just built a pool and knowing that I fly, was asking me about subs. He wants to buy one so he and his son can run it in his pool. My question is,,which would be a good starter and where do you purchase subs? I've seen a couple in the HL catalog. Again, please forgive my " 0 knowledge" in subs. Thanks, :D :D

For just tooling around in a pool I would suggest the Nikko submarines. The newest is the Seawolf and sells at retail for around $170. Check EBAY and you can often get them alot cheaper. By the way, their are many older versions out there and all are identical except for the color. There are not many lower priced submarines to choose from. Even if price was not a issue, a regular sized pool just isnt enough room.

There are ALWAYS some on Ebay. I once had 12 that I bought bulk as discontunued. I painted a few to more resemble real subs. I considered replacing the radio with a better one cause the range isnt all that great. A good thing is that with the bottom prop, you can descend straight down and hover. Nothing fancy but pretty fun especially in a clear pool. The alternatives can exceed over $1000 and can be complicated to build, setup and maintain.

cruzeomatic,
Go to hobbies and crafts, then radio control, than boats-electric. This should get you there
