WOW!!! Whats the chance of someone whos never surfed before being able to run one of those?

I'd say you have a really good chance especially if you already have a knack for rc toys or computer games. You should be able to pick it up fairly quickly. Without a doubt it does help if you have surfing experiance or some understanding about waves in general. All this can be learned as you go. Just make sure to start out on a nice sandy beach with small waves or better yet test him out on a lake, pond or swimming pool first, then once you have it figured out take him to the beach. You'll have a blast!
