Here is my WM Zen30 pattern plane. 46" span 463 sq in a nice arf.
Coversion was easy using an axi 2626/10 ccphx60 and a polyquest xp 4s2500 pack. Motor mount shown using bushings and screws as a standoff.
A 11x8.5 e prop gave 700 watts at 50 amps. Auw is 4lbs on the dot(same as glow) very nice flight spped and vertical performance
Performance is excellent. flight times are 7 to 10 minutes.

Thanks! I think the aluminum gear and wheel pants look nice. The ground handling is good too.
I was able to make the canopy into a hatch for the battery and use clear tape as a hinge and magnets to hhold it closed. It has worked well.

I am now getting 720 watts after switching to polyquest xp2500 4 s packs.
And the plane has dropped 1.5 oz!!
These xp cells are very powerful
Even after a 5 minute flight I measured 620 watts static!

I now have 100 plus flights on my Zen30 and it still is a thrill to fly. It has held up well ,and I have learned alot. This power system is killer on a 4lb plane and has been bulletproof. To bad the Zen30 is discontinued.
I know I dug this thread up , but this is to good a setup for others not to try.
Now only if mfrs would make some nice 30/40 sized pattern arfs (come on Hyperion)

How have your orignal Lipos held up?

Kevin,
I agree completely with the need for a smaller scale pattern ship. I just received the Hyperion Cap 232 and am itching to get started. I just saw they have released a Sukhoi now (hopefully my next plane). I like their construction techniques and would love to see a pattern plane from them as well.

I have used 3 packs in the Zen , 2 polyquest 4s 3100s(12c), and 1 polyquest xp2500 (20c)
all the packs still fly well after many cycles, the older red polyquests still put out about 500 watts. the newer xp pack close to 700. I had my doubts but they have done pretty well.
